Tayuya is a woody climber that is found in the Amazonian forest (mainly in Brazil and Peru) and in Bolivia. Belongs to the family of Cucurbitaceae, which includes about 100 genera and over 700 species of plants, most of which are characterized by long tuberous roots. And it is the root that is used officinale.
